MISSION STATEMENT
The Helping Hands Foundation is a non profit organization comprised solely of volunteers. We provide emergency assistance, babysitting, mentors, and financial aid to adults and children who have lost their home to a fire in San Diego, CA. 100% of all donations go directly to fire survivors.
Currently we are hard at work assisting the Firestorm 2007 fire survivors. We have successfully delivered over 150 Comfort Bags to children, teens and adult survivors. Through our Compassion Outreach program we have paired Cedar fire survivors to mentor Firestorm 2007 survivors. This has been an extremely successful program and is a win-win for both Cedar and Firestorm survivors.
We are continuing to stuff Comfort Bags and are accepting donations. We need the following items:
Children: new blankets, new toys
Teens: new cd players, cd’s, footballs, basketballs, team ball caps, team shirts and sweatshirts, lip gloss, simple make-up, hair ties and clips, yummy lotions, nail polish and remover, and Target gift cards.
Adults: Gift Cards (Target, Linens & Things, Walmart, etc)
